Company History

Since the late 80's I've been involved in home construction in one form or another. Whether is was building sheds, shingling roofs, helping to build a home from the ground up or performing a whole house remodel, I have been part of the process that made those projects successful. In 2010, I formed B&S Real Estate Preservation, LLC and Certified Home Inspections and have been maintaining and inspecting homes for different national default management companies and banks. A "Default Management Company" maintains and handles a list of thousands of foreclosed homes around the U.S. for the banks who own them. These management companies exist in different parts of the country. So when they need work done on a property local to Southern Minnesota, we are one of the few companies they call to do the work. Our company not only performs "Certified Inspections" on foreclosed homes, we also repair them, maintain them and make them safe to put back on the real estate market. As a matter of fact, we are called to reinspect the same house after every repair that gets made. It's very common to perform a certified inspection on a foreclosed home a dozen times in the average life span of 24 months that a foreclosed home sits "OFF" the market.

Regrettably, half of all foreclosed homes that we work with or inspect, came to us in a sad state of disrepair. In the many years that we have been in business, we have seen it all...well at least we hope we don't see anything worse. From angry owners who destroy their home on the way out by leaving the water run for month, to homes where the previous owner thought it would look great if they drove their car through the wall.

Your average home owner does not do this to a home they are trying to sell. While most inspectors look at homes that have never seen such damage, B&S Real Estate Preservation, LLC and Certified Home Inspections has inspected some of the worst homes available. We have gained enormous amounts of experience from this type of work. We are well qualified to see what's up with your home.

We have contracts with several of the biggest default management companies and banks in the U.S. and are now opening up the inspection side of our business to the people who own and care about their homes.

Our website was previously set up for management company and bank usage only because when you work with a bank, you learn real quickly to get to the point and stay on it. We have decided to rebuild the site from the ground up and instead of being flashy and information rich we intend to get to the point and stay on it.

As we expand our inspection options, know that our most popular service is a "Complete Certified Home Inspection" based on the InterNACHI "Standards of Practice", the world's largest inspection trade association.

Based in the United States, InterNACHI is both non-profit and federally tax-exempt, and operates in 65 different countries and nine languages. InterNACHI is the inspection industry’s largest provider of education and training.

We look forward to sharing our knowledge with you.
